How we rate difficulty and play time
- gentle: for first-timers and families: few documents, and the answer usually follows from one or two facts
- medium: you need to combine facts from several places and do some calculating, but there are no traps
- hard: lots of material, false leads, measurements or time conversions
- very hard: for experienced teams: dozens of documents, multi-step reasoning, ciphers and measurements
- expert: like level 4, but with minimal help or with knowledge from outside the game
Play time is the active playing time of teams in our tests: half of them finish faster, half more slowly. Breaks don’t count, and your progress waits in your account.
